Georges Niang feels like you have to stay poised when playing a player like Stephen Curry for all 48 minutes.

As the 20262-27 approaches, the Golden State Warriors continue to fill up their final roster spots, and just recently, they added former Atlanta Hawks forward Georges Niang. Niang signed to the Warriors on a one-year, $3.9 million contract.

Niang recently opened up about joining the Warriors and what it means to play with the likes of guard Stephen Curry. He talked about his past experiences playing Curry, and how much of a threat he truly is to opposing teams.

“I don’t think people understand how much you worry about a guy like [Steph Curry]. There’s been so many times where we’ve been up 15 or 16 against the Warriors in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes to go, and we’re still like ‘Alright, the game’s not over," Niang said.

Stephen Curry has been someone who has led improbable comebacks in the past, and he's been a clutch player throughout his whole career. In the Play-In Tournament last season, the Golden State Warriors faced a 13-point deficit with under 10 minutes remaining against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Curry had a slow start to the game as he only finished with 8 points after the first half. In the second half, he got the wheels turning, and he finished the game with 35 points and erased the deficit to win 126-121.

Curry is a player who can score in a hurry, and he can find his rhythm after just one made basket. During the 2024-2025 season, he had a similar game in which he scored in bunches and carried the Warriors to a win in Orlando against the Magic.

He finished that game with 56 points on 16-of-25 shooting from the field as the Warriors came away with a 121-115 win. When looking ahead to next season for Golden State, they may need Curry to continue to have those kinds of games if they're looking for success.

Without Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler to start the season, it makes things tougher for Steph Curry and this Warriors offense because it leaves them with less production. Someone on the roster will have to step up offensively, but Curry still has the ability to get hot and carry a team to a win.

Golden State's front office can hope that rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg or guard Brandin Podziemski can be those players who help out Curry offensively, but with a lack of depth, it will be interesting to see what this coaching staff will ask Steph Curry to do moving forward.
