Seth Curry is 35 years old. He is in Golden State on an Exhibit 9 contract to show he belongs. He will be allowed to compete in training camp and then hopefully secure a guaranteed contract once the season starts and the salary cap opens up.

“It’s good to be here at this stage and veteran team, get back to trying to win some games and trying to win a championship,” he said after training camp this week. "I am competing."

Seth Curry said he is having a good time in the Bay Area and is looking forward to playing with his brother, Steph Curry.

“It’s fun to be here,” Seth Curry said via Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle. “I always felt the Bay. I got a lot of love here. Always felt like one of my homes. Steph being here so long, it’s good to be here.”

Seth Curry said he never envisioned himself playing with the Warriors and his older brother. He wanted to create his own path and stage his own success. He started in the G League and worked his way up through the ranks. Ultimately, he started for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020 when they were a strong, physical team.

At the same time, Steph Curry was winning scoring titles. The Warriors were on, and there was really no need for Seth's services, despite the fact that he averaged 12.5 points and shot 45 percent from 3-point range.

“I don’t know if the timing was right (for Seth to join us) over recent years. We probably didn’t have playing time for him. He was in a place where he was going to teams and playing a lot, making money,” head coach Steve Kerr said.  “It just feels like (Stephen and Seth are) both at a point in their careers where this makes a ton of sense. I’m thrilled to have Seth.”

Seth Curry has made a living in the NBA as a journeyman. He played for the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets. He always cherished his games against his older brother, even when his father, Dell broadcast the games for the Hornets Radio Network.

“Everybody’s excited about it,” Seth Curry said. “Instead of watching more games, it should be just easier to watch my game, which is easier on everybody. Everybody is excited about it, except maybe my dad.

“He didn’t want me to leave Charlotte.”

The Curry brothers have guarded each other in previous games throughout their careers. Now, they will be on the same side of the court.

“We’ve seen (us guarding each other) many times on the live stage now. Me guarding him. Him guarding me. It’s a little weird for us,” Seth Curry said.

Seth knows how the Warriors play based upon the fact he watches Steph play every chance he gets. He can be a reliable bench player for the Warriors as they are in pursuit of another NBA title.

“I know their style. I know how they play,” he said. “I should be able to fit right in, whatever they need.”
