The Golden State Warriors picked up a big win on Monday night, but the 120-97 victory over the Orlando Magic was overshadowed by a heated exchange between forward Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr that led to Green leaving the court early.

After the game, star point guard Stephen Curry was asked about the incident and he downplayed the situation while expressing confidence in his teammates' professionalism.

Curry Weighs In on Draymond-Kerr Moment

"They were just having a good conversation," Curry said. "It's kind of for them to talk about not me. I'm pretty sure we know how to be professional though."

The exchange happened early in the third quarter when the Warriors were trailing the Magic 71-66 and Kerr called a timeout after Green committed a turnover.

Things got heated between the two during the timeout, which led to Moses Moody briefly stepping in to try and calm the situation before Green excused himself and went back to the locker room where he stayed for the final 20 minutes of the game.

Despite the drama, the Warriors (15-15) rallied in a big way after Green left and outscored Orlando 54-26 the rest of the way to secure the comfortable win and get back to a .500 record on the season.

The Magic (17-13) struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 7-of-27 from three-point range on the night.

Warriors Rally Behind Curry's Second-Half Surge

Curry struggled through a rough first half but came alive after halftime, scoring 18 of his 26 points after intermission while shooting 6-of-6 in the third quarter alone.

The four-time NBA champion is averaging 28.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists this season and continues to lead the Warriors offense.

Jimmy Butler added 21 points on the night, while Moody contributed 20 points off the bench as the Warriors showed they can still get it done when things get a little chaotic on the sideline.

Green finished with nine points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes before his early exit and is averaging 8.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists on the season.

Both Green and Kerr spoke after the game and seemed ready to move past the incident, with Kerr calling it "unfortunate" but saying the team needs Green going forward.

Looking Ahead

The Warriors and their core of Curry, Green and Butler have been together for nearly a full season now after acquiring Butler last February, and moments like Monday night are bound to happen between competitors who have been through so much together.

The group is clearly confident they can handle a little internal friction without it becoming a bigger issue.

Golden State now turns its attention to a Christmas Day matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, giving the team a chance to close out 2025 on a high note after stringing together back-to-back wins following a rough stretch.
