The Golden State Warriors got back on the winning track on Wednesday with a 120-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Warriors were led by Steph Curry, who scored 31 points while adding seven assists and six rebounds.
Earlier in the season, the Bucks got the better of the Warriors with a 120-110 victory in Milwaukee.
After the game, Steph was asked what the Warriors took away from the first matchup in October.
“Not much because Giannis (Antetokounmpo) didn't play, but just a sense of urgency early into the game getting into their shooters and just trying to make it tough on them. Obviously Ryan (Rollins) had a great game last time when Giannis was out last time and dominated the whole game. But it was more the recipe for how we’re supposed to win games. Compared to the Clipper game we made more shots but it was the same kind of vibe, good defense, low turnovers, trying to keep them off the offensive glass, and you hope that that would add up to a win," said Steph.
In the October matchup, Giannis Antetokounmpo being sidelined led to Ryan Rollins scoring 32 points and knocking down five threes. The Bucks had eight players in double figures in that game, and the team shot 41% from three.
Milwaukee was able to find offense on Wednesday with Giannis scoring 34 points to go with five other players scoring in double figures and 44% shooting from three.
While Giannis being back didn't change much for Milwaukee offensively compared to the first game, it was the Warriors on the offensive end who helped themselves.
The group had 22 turnovers to 23 assists in October compared to ten turnovers to 31 assists on Wednesday.
On top of limiting their turnovers, the Warriors hit four more threes, seven more free throws, and had seven more points off turnovers.
The Warriors have traded wins and losses in their last five games and are 4-3 in their last seven. It's been an up-and-down season for a group that came in with high aspirations, given how well they played following the acquisition of Jimmy Butler last season and how the team played prior to Steph's injury in the playoffs.
Wednesday kicked off an eight-game homestand that gives Golden State the perfect opportunity to stack victories.
During the stretch, they'll welcome in five Eastern Conference teams and play four teams with a losing record.
