Steve Kerr And Draymond Green's Altercation Leaves Sour Note Despite Magic Win cover image

The Golden State Warriors secured a win Monday night, but it come a little drama

The Golden State Warriors have had a rocky season, full of highs and lows that had them at 14-15 entering Monday night's contest against the Orlando Magic. Coming off a win in the prior contest against the Phoenix Suns, it was an opportunity for the Warriors to capitalize on a depleted Magic team without several key stars.

They were able to do so, blowing them out 120-97, as they bounced back after a lackluster first quarter to get back to .500 on the season. While there were positives to look at, such as three Warriors scoring 20 or more points and Brandin Podziemski's plus-minus of +36, it was an altercation in the third quarter that was the story of the game.

Draymond Green and Steve Kerr Go At It

Seen during a timeout in the third quarter, Steve Kerr and Draymond Green got into an aggressive verbal argument, with the two showing plenty of emotion from the videos online. Green checked out of the game then, which was the 8:31 mark of the third quarter, and didn't return after logging nine points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes.

After the game, both parties were asked about the situation, as fans were all wondering what had gone down.

"We got into it obviously, and you know I took the timeout just because I thought we lost our focus there a little bit...He made his decision to go back to the locker room and cool off, and that's all I'm going to say about it. Everything is private, and I got nothing further...," Kerr told the media.

Fans online were under the impression that Kerr was the one who sent Green to the locker room, but Kerr made it known that it was not his decision, but Green's, to do so. Additionally, Kerr said there was no plan to put Green back in the game, regardless of the situation. However, he doesn't believe this will be something that lingers, and neither does Green.

"Tempers spilled over, and I just thought it was best that I got out of it. I don't think there was a situation where it was going to get better, so it was just best to remove myself," Green said.

While Kerr said the argument was private, Green at least said the argument was about basketball.

"We’ve been at this now for a long time. So, sometimes you’re with people for a long time, there’s a level of comfort. S*** happens. We move forward," Green added.

Golden State won't be back in action till Christmas, so conversations will continue to go on about this interaction as basketball takes a break in the Bay Area.
