Steve Kerr feels like there's problems the Warriors need to solve ahead of the regular season.

This preseason, the Golden State Warriors have had their ups and downs. Up to this point, they’re 3-2 with one game left before they begin their regular-season campaign.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently talked about their performance up to this point, and he admitted he is not satisfied with what he’s seen from his team so far.

"We're not anywhere close to where we want to be,” Kerr said.

While the Warriors have not looked terrible, there are areas in which they need to improve if they want to have a successful season. Golden State will be without two key players, Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, to start the year, and it will be important to start the season on the right track.

This is a roster that will have some moving parts because of all the injuries. Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg is slated to be in the starting lineup this season, and the Warriors are projected to have a relatively small starting five.

Steve Kerr and the coaching staff could have some growing pains trying to figure out the best rotation for this team, and it will be interesting to see how they navigate the injuries.

Kerr also mentioned the number of turnovers the Warriors committed in their previous preseason game. He was more frustrated by the lack of execution than anything else from his team.

The Warriors will face a tough challenge if they don’t have star player Stephen Curry to lead the way offensively. They don’t have much depth at the guard spot, and they will rely on Brandin Podziemski in those situations.

Podziemski is looking to have a true breakout season after signing a five-year extension with the franchise. But as Steve Kerr said, he and the rest of the guards on the roster will have to stop turning the ball over.

Overall, the sense is that the offense is the weakness for the Warriors up to this point. Kerr is pleased with the effort his players bring on a nightly basis, but there are specific traits that the team lacks to be successful.

Finishing in transition will have to improve for the Warriors this season as that will be a key component of winning this season. If the Warriors can figure things out on offense and execute in different situations, they could be competitive this season. It will depend on Steph Curry’s supporting cast and their young pieces emerging as key players.
