Golden State Warriors head Steve Kerr compliments his superstar.

Steph Curry looked like vintage Steph Curry against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday as the Golden State Warriors took home a 119-114 victory, their second on the season.

The future Hall of Famer finished with 44 points on 11-for-27 shooting and 6-for-16 from three. He also went to the free throw line 16 times, knocking down all 16 attempts.

On top of his scoring, he added eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had plenty of praise for his superstar.

Kerr stated, “I just see him doing what Steph Curry does.”

Kerr noted that the plan was to get Curry free with ball screens early and bringing Rudy Gobert out of the paint. He praised the team for doing a good job screening for Curry to help get him free.

“Once he had the freedom to roam, they had to scramble with their rotations.”

He stated that they executed well in the first half, scoring 63 points despite missing open shots.

Steph Curry Gets Hot

Kerr stated that Curry has some quiet games, but he’s also going to have games where he can’t miss, and that it never surprises him when Curry gets hot.

“What makes him special is that it can happen at any time,” he said, before saying that he can be 0-for-5 and then make his next seven shots.

Curry was perfect from the field in the prior game against the Denver Nuggets, scoring on all eight of his field goal attempts.

Kerr praised Curry for never getting down when shots aren’t falling and said that his confidence never wavers even if he has tough shooting nights.

First 40 In Nearly a Year

Believe it or not, Wednesday was the first time Steph had over 40 points in a game since December 14, 2025, when he had 48 points against the Portland Trail Blazers.

He scored 40 or more points in four games last season, all of which came at the beginning of the year.

On November 14, 2025, he had 49 points against the San Antonio Spurs. Two nights prior, he had 46 points against the Spurs. His other 40+ point game took place in the second game of the season, when he had 42 against the Denver Nuggets in overtime.

Curry is off to a hot start this season, averaging 28.8 points on 47% shooting from the field and 38.9% from three. He’s also perfect from the free throw line, hitting 39 of 39 attempts.

There’s no one quite like peak Steph Curry.
