Steve Kerr reflected on the Warriors' healthier rotation.

As the regular season winds down for the Golden State Warriors, the heat is picking up with the Play-In rapidly approaching. Though their opponent still hasn't been determined between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers, coming down to the final day of the season, they do know it'll be a road tilt against a solid team that they'll need to be at full power for.

Of course, thanks to season-ending injuries to Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, the Warriors are already precluded from being at full power, but for the rest of their available players, their final game against the Clippers on Sunday is the last chance for players like Steph Curry, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and more to mesh together and get in some final game conditioning.

Steve Kerr Reflects On Warriors' Improving Health

In the Warriors' game on Friday against the Kings, Steve Kerr got a chance to look at how Curry handled his return from injury, scoring just 11 points on 3-8 shooting from the field.

"He's just getting his feet underneath him. It wasn't his best night, obviously, but it's just good for him to play and continue to get reps."

In addition to Curry, Kerr also got a good look at whether Porzingis and Horford were just as comfortable playing together as they were in their two years in Boston.

"They looked good together. I thought Al looked really good. He prepared really well over the last couple of weeks as he was getting ready for this, ramping up his minutes and scrimmaging and all that stuff. The two of them, it was good to get them out on the floor together. We knew they were good together in Boston. They're smart players, they can play off of each other. They can both go inside or out on offense. Both can protect the rim. It's a good pairing."

Porzingis and Horford Finally Bring Big Man Reinforcements

It's been too many games as of late that Draymond Green has been the sole big man on a guaranteed contract. Though two-way contracts have helped fill the void, especially in the case of Charles Bassey, getting both Porzingis and Horford back should help greatly with the interior issues the Warriors were having, among other pitfalls.

Horford had missed the last 14 games due to a calf injury before Friday's game, but as Kerr said, he looked pretty solid. In 18 minutes off the bench, Horford worked in with both Porzingis and Green as his frontcourt partner and ended up scoring 10 points to go with 2 assists and a block.

Before his injury, Horford had been improving on the offensive end from his rough start to the season, while Porzingis has continued to get better as time goes on and he gets more comfortable in Golden State, even as he remains in and out of the lineup for rest, injury management, or various other reasons.

The ultimate goal is for them to reach even a semblance of the dominance they exhibited when playing together in Boston. Over the two years that Porzingis was with the Celtics, the pair played 955 minutes together and had a +12.3 net rating, greatly improving an already dominant Celtics defense and providing solid offense both on the perimeter and in the paint.

With the amount of pressure Curry exerts on his own, Porzingis and Horford being even half that good now would be a huge help to exploit offensive advantages and hold down the defense.
