Head coach Steve Kerr was ejected from the Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Clippers game on Monday, irate at the referees over missed calls.
Steph Curry hit a circus floater, but a foul was called before the act of shooting.
The referees would go on to miss an obvious goaltend by John Collins on a Gary Payton II layup attempt. Back on the defensive end, Curry was called for his fourth foul of the game on a seemingly minor shooting foul.
Kerr caught up with the referees to let them know how he felt and was quickly hit with two technical fouls, which resulted in an automatic ejection.
Kerr had to be restrained by assistant coach Terry Stotts and Payton II.
After the game, Stotts took questions from the media.
"I'm up here because I'm saving Steve some money. That's the only reason I'm here," Stotts said with a laugh.
Asked if there was anything in particular that set coach Kerr off, Stotts replied, "What particularly? I think it was that goaltending call that was missed. There were some other things, but that was the last straw, probably. I don't want to speak for Steve."
It was pointed out that Stotts had to speak for Steve.
Asked about the goaltend that wasn't called, Stotts replied, "Yeah, I didn't see a replay, but it sure seemed obvious at the time that it was a goaltend."
Stotts went on to say, "They did not give an explanation. It was a late call. I assume, since it was a late call, the foul was early, but no, we were not given an explanation."
After the game, crew chief Brian Forte admitted that they missed the goaltending call.
"The shot by (Gary) Payton hit the backboard prior to being touched by Collins. It should have been ruled a goaltending violation. The only way it could have been reviewed was if it was called on the floor and the Clippers challenged the call, because it did not occur in the last two minutes of the game," said Forte.
For the second straight game, a member of the Warriors was ejected from the game. Against the Utah Jazz, Draymond Green was ejected after yelling at the referees over what he felt was a missed three-second violaton.
The Warriors would come back to win against Utah.
They had no such luck against the Clippers as Jimmy Butler missed the potential game-winner as time expired.
