Vintage heroics from Steph Curry and Draymond Green led the Warriors to a thrilling Play-In win over the Clippers.

In the Western Conference's 9 vs. 10 matchup in the Play-In Tournament, the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers were both looking to keep their seasons alive for at least one more game.

The main worry for the Warriors was how their primary contributors' health would hold up. Especially for Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford, injuries threw a massive wrench into how the regular season played out, and though their ages meant a greater wealth of playoff experience, it also meant a high amount of wear and tear that could become an issue in an intense game.

However, it seemed there was nothing to worry about. Those four put on a show, turning back the clocks in tandem with quality performances from a few of the young Warriors. With vintage heroics from the two franchise legends, Curry and Green, in the final minutes, the Warriors came away from the Intuit Dome with a thrilling 126-121 victory to move on and face the Phoenix Suns on Friday with the 8th seed in the playoffs on the line.

Steve Kerr Wholly Believed In Curry And Green

Some people were writing the Warriors off, and considering they came into this game 8 games under .500, it wasn't that far-fetched. The team was so injured in the second half of the season, and many didn't even want Curry to come back, even for this high-stakes Play-In Game.

Curry simply shrugged that off, and Steve Kerr knew his veterans were always going to pull through in the end, no matter how beat and battered they were.

"I've been watching (Curry and Green) for 12 years. There's a reason we have four championships. It's a competitiveness, the heart, the will. It's been such a tough year. To show what they're made of, what we're made of, and there were a lot of guys who came through. Obviously, the spotlight is on them because of everything they've accomplished, but I just told them, with all the wins we've ever had here, a lot of them with a lot more at stake, this is right up there, just because where we are and our age and the decline of our performance this year with the injuries. It was just a beautiful display of competitive will."

Kerr specifically homed in on Curry's injury and the discourse surrounding his return, firing back at all the naysayers.

"This is why Steph came back. Everybody out there who thought Steph should have taken the rest of the year off, (knocking on the table), this is what he does. This is who he is. If he can compete, he's going to compete, and it was just incredible to watch."

Veterans Lead The Way In Epic Victory

Curry was absolutely magnificent, but you wouldn't have expected that with how the first quarter went. After the first 12 minutes of action, he only had 3 points, shot 1-5 for the field, and was seen heading back to the locker room, presumably to get his knee checked out.

In the second quarter, Curry only had 5 more points and shot 1-4, meaning his halftime stat line was an abysmal 8 points on 2-9 shooting from the field.

Curry will do as Curry does, though. The third quarter was a vintage Curry Flurry, as he scored 16 points on 6-8 shooting and 3-4 from downtown, including 8-straight points in the middle of the frame. Then, in the fourth, he totaled 11 more points, including the absurd step-back three-pointer over Brook Lopez to break the 117-117 tie and put the Warriors up for good with just 50 seconds to play.

All in all, Curry finished with 35 points on 12-23 shooting from the field and 7-12 from beyond the arc. He was simply too much for the Clippers to handle.

On the other side of the ball, Green was the one to bring it home for the Dubs. Though his final stat line wasn't anything to gawk at â€” 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists is about as "Draymond Green" a stat line can get â€” he racked up four steals, none bigger than the two he got in the final 50 seconds, including picking Kawhi Leonard's pocket to put the game on ice.

Horford's four consecutive made triples in the fourth quarter cannot be overlooked, keeping the Warriors attached when the Clippers were threatening to expand their lead, and Porzingis' 20 points were a steadying presence all throughout the game to ensure the Warriors remained in the hunt even with Curry's dry spell in the first half.

It was one of the most complete team games of the year for the Warriors with some vintage heroics to end it. Now, they'll have to quickly turn their attention to the Suns as they head to Phoenix for another do-or-die game, this time with the 8th seed and a spot in the NBA Playoffs on the line.
