The Golden State Warriors are awaiting a final status update on a key player for their contest vs the San Antonio Spurs
The Golden State Warriors started the season off 4-1, with wins over the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers that had the fan base dreaming big. However, Steph Curry dealing with an injury as well as some apparent off-court issues, has led this team to drop to 6-6 after their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After a 126-102 blowout loss to the Thunder on Tuesday night, they'll play the second night of their back-to-back in San Antonio against the Spurs. One of the surprise teams to start the 2025-26 campaign, San Antonio holds an 8-2 record and has one of the league's top defenses. For the Warriors, they'll be hoping the team is at full strength.
Warriors Injury Report
The most prominent name on Golden State's injury report is Jonathan Kuminga, as the forward is listed as QUESTIONABLE with bilateral knee patellar tendonitis. Kuminga did play in the team's loss to the Thunder, logging 24 minutes and scoring 13 points. He has played in all 12 games this season, but has seen a dip in his production over the past three contests, averaging just eight points.
Second-year center Quinten Post is listed as PROBABLE, as he deals with left Achilles soreness. He has also appeared in all 12 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 6.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and is shooting 37.2% from beyond the arc.
The only other name listed continues to be De'Anthony Melton, who is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last season with the Warriors before being traded. With the team currently experiencing a rough patch of play, adding Melton back to the lineup would be a welcome addition.
As for the Spurs, the only notable name listed is Dylan Harper, who remains sidelined due to a left calf injury and is listed as OUT.
Game Preview
Golden State has just one player on their roster listed taller than 6-foot-10 in Quinten Post, so matching up against Victor Wembanyama won't be a fun task for this Warriors side.
Wembanyama is coming off one of his best performances of the season against the Chicago Bulls, where he posted 38 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks while having some clutch shot-making down the stretch to help lead the Spurs to a victory.
Coming off an emotional loss to the Thunder, the Warriors will look to channel their upset emotions into their play on the court. Whether the rumors are true that the young players and veterans aren't seeing eye-to-eye, the Warriors have to find a way to work past that and play as a unit on Wednesday night.
Tip-off in San Antonio is set for 8:00 p.m. EST.
