The Golden State Warriors took to the floor Sunday at the Chase Center and held a spirited practice after having Saturday off. The team is preparing for the season-opener Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.

Forwards Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga returned to practice Sunday afternoon as the Golden State Warriors readied themselves for the season-opening tilt Tuesday evening at the Crypto.com Arena against the Los Angeles Lakers.

While addressing reporters Sunday afternoon after practice, Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr confirmed the two players' participation and said they have been upgraded to questionable for Tuesday night.

Both players suffered ankle injuries, which caused them to miss time. Butler hurt his ankle a week ago in practice, while Kuminga tweaked his ankle against the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night.

“Everything went well,” Kerr said. We’ll “see how they come out of the scrimmage.”

Kerr also confirmed that Moses Moody, who would normally start for Golden State on the wing, will miss Tuesday's game as he nurses a calf injury which caused him to miss the final three preseason games. There is no timetable, according to Kerr, for Moody's return.

The coach also said he has not finalized his starting lineup for Tuesday at this time.

Kerr hinted that he could go with a bigger lineup and start Al Horford at center and Draymond Green at the power forward position. If Butler is healthy, he is a given to start. Brandin Podziemski is also scheduled to start.

If they go to a smaller, quicker lineup, Kuminga would start at power forward and Green would slide into the middle.

“It could be any one of a number of players, honestly,” Kerr said. “But what we have to think about is what that does to the rotation and what that means coming off the bench. And honestly, we have not decided yet.”

Green joked that if he has to play center, he is asking for a trade. He handled it with jest and said he is prepared to play either spot.

“If I’ve got to play the five, I’m asking for a trade,” Green joked after practice. “I’ve teetered with it my whole career, sometimes at the five and sometimes at the four. … Whatever helps this team, whatever puts us in the best position to win, that’s what I’m going to do.”
