Warriors' Forward Depth Could Be Thin Based On Injury Report vs Jazz cover image

The Golden State Warriors' forward depth could be tested on Monday versus the Utah Jazz

After a three-game winning streak that featured back-to-back wins over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors find themselves in the midst of a three-game losing streak. While early-season indications pointed toward this team being a contender, it's been rough in Golden State since their 4-1 start, going just 5-8 since then.

However, after a weekend off, the Warriors will look to get back on track after some much-needed rest and begin their four-game home stand with the Utah Jazz on Monday night. With the Jazz also riding a three-game losing streak, only one team will get to put an end to their streak.

Warriors Injury Report

For Golden State's availability, Jonathan Kuminga remains sidelined for the Warriors as he continues to deal with bilateral knee patellar tendonitis. Kuminga last played for the team on November 12th against the Spurs, where he logged just 12 minutes and attempted one shot.

Kuminga got off to a hot start to the 2025-26 season, silencing the critics after his offseason-long negotiations with the team. He started to slow down right before being sidelined, further sparking up conversation about a potential move once he's eligible to be traded at the start of the next calendar year.

With Kuminga already ruled OUT, it raises concern with defensive star Draymond Green being listed as QUESTIONABLE with a sprain in his right midfoot. Green did play in the team's 127-123 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, but was sidelined alongside other veteran stars against the Miami Heat.

Green is averaging 8.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game this season, but he's shooting a poor 38.8% from the field. While his value is on the defensive end, it's still not a good look.

Furthermore, both Al Horford (nerve) and De'Anthony Melton (ACL) are OUT for Golden State as well. Melton could be making his return to the court in the near future, while the Warriors will be hoping that Horford can start to turn things around after a rough start to the season.

Game Preview

Given that the Jazz are coming off a Sunday night matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors will look to take advantage of their fatigue and utilize the weekend rest to get back in the win column. While the record doesn't show it, the Jazz aren't a win they can pencil in, especially with the play of Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George this season on the offensive end.

Tip-off in San Francisco is set for 10:00 p.m. EST, as Golden State will seek to capture its 10th win on the season.
