Warriors Get Bad News on Injury Report for Pelicans Game cover image

The Golden State Warriors play the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.

The Golden State Warriors face off against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night, with both teams struggling with their injured lists.

The Warriors are looking to bounce back after a loss to the Houston Rockets, while the Pelicans are looking for any way to revive their season after a terrible start to the year. It should be an easier matchup than most for the Warriors, but they'll be deprived of some star power heading into the game.

There aren't many new updates to the injury report for Golden State, but the ones that are there are sure to be impactful, and the Warriors' depth will surely be tested. The Pelicans will also have to prove their mettle without some key pieces in the lineup when the two teams, who have very different seasons, clash on Saturday night.

Finally, De'Anthony Melton remains OUT while he recovers from his ACL surgery he had last December. Melton is ramping up his workouts and has begun practicing with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G-League in preparation for a possible return in December.

Pelicans Injury Report

Herb Jones (calf) is OUT for Saturday with a calf strain. Jones will miss his fourth straight game as a result of the injury, leaving the Pelicans without a key piece of their starting rotation.

Jordan Hawkins (illness) is OUT for Saturday's game. Hawkins had his best game of the season on Wednesday with 14 points off the bench against the Memphis Grizzlies, and without the Pelicans so severely robbed of their depth, the absence of Hawkins makes things even more dire.

Karlo Matkovic (calf) is OUT with a right calf strain.

Jordan Poole (quad) is OUT with a left quad strain.

Trey Murphy III (elbow) is QUESTIONABLE to play on Saturday due to right elbow soreness.

Dejounte Murray (Achilles) remains OUT for Saturday's game as he continues to recover from a right Achilles tendon rupture. Murray could make his return sometime in January, per a report by ESPN's Shams Charania, but for now, the Pelicans will be without the former All-Star.
