Mike Dunleavy cleared the air about the No. 11 pick.
The Golden State Warriors and in particular, the 11th overall pick that they have in their possession for the 2026 NBA Draft, have been one of the most hotly discussed topics in the offseason at this point.
With the amount of talent that's going to be available in the draft, any pick is even more precious than usual and that's especially true for a pick in the first half of the draft like the Warriors have.
Pairing that with the Warriors being reportedly desperate to add another superstar to their roster to build around Steph Curry and try to restore the Warriors to playoff prominence, it was easy for many to assume that the Warriors would use their pick as draft capital to try and make a deal for another impact player.

They've reportedly been involved in talks for both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard, the two hottest trade prospects on the market, at various points of this offseason, but the draft is drawing closer and the pressure is on for the Warriors to make a decision regarding what their intention will be with their pick.
In a recent press conference, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy made a public declaration that should bring a little more clarity as to what the Warriors' intentions are with their pick.
“I just feel like, as strong as this draft is, we should probably come out of this draft with a player, unless, you know, if something falls into our lap, trade-wise," Dunleavy said. "This is a really good draft to be in, especially at 11, and we don't want to overlook that."
Things Could Change
Dunleavy is right to be protective of his pick and he's right to be aware of the talent level available in this draft.
While the Warriors may be hungry for a superstar and want to try and step up their competitiveness as quickly as possible before this era closes for the Warriors, they still have a great opportunity ahead of them to not only add an excellent player that could bring the Warriors to where they want to be, but invest in their future as well.
Dunleavy didn't completely write off the idea of trading away their pick, though. He mentioned that if an offer came their way that could bring an impactful veteran their way, but it's also smart business for Dunleavy to not tip the Warriors' hand if they are planning to make a trade.
They still have a few days to make a decision, but when draft day comes, all will be revealed.
