Melton has been sidelined this season while recovery from a torn ACL ACL he suffered last season, but he will finally be able to play once again.
The Warriors signed Melton and he played just six games with the Warriors before it was announced on Nov. 20, 2024 that Melton would undergo season-ending surgery to repair his ACL. He was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets with Reece Beetman and three draft picks for Dennis Shroeder, but Melton never played a game in Brooklyn due to his ACL.
The Warriors signed him again ahead of this season, investing in his recovery, and now his long-waited return to the court is finally here. Melton would have a major load on him in his season debut, with multiple Warriors stars out on Thursday.
Steph Curry (quad) is OUT Thursday with a left quadricep contusion. This will be the fourth-straight game that Curry will miss.
Jimmy Butler III (knee) is OUT with knee soreness.

Quentin Grimes (calf) is AVAILABLE to play despite dealing with right calf tightness.
Jared McCain (thumb) is AVAILABLE to play Thursday. McCain underwent surgery in October to repair a torn ligament in his thumb, but is now back to court and playing with a splint on the affected thumb while it continues to heal.
