Warriors Near Full Health On Injury Report vs Suns cover image

The Golden State Warriors will have a majority of their rotation available versus the Phoenix Suns

The Golden State Warriors enter Thursday's contest on the road against the Phoenix Suns with a 4-6 record in their past two games and losers of their past two contests; however, the same remains true for the hosting Suns. The Suns have just been slightly better on the season overall, after making drastic changes to the roster over the offseason.

Looking at Golden State, they'll be looking to get back in the win column and avoid dropping further below .500 on the young season. With head coach Steve Kerr coming out and listing the team's new starting lineup going forward, the Warriors are entering Thursday with a majority of their rotation available.

Warriors Injury Report

Taking a look at the injury report for Golden State, just two names are listed, with Al Horford (sciatic nerve) and Pat Spencer (personal reasons) ruled OUT for Thursday. Given the play of Horford this season, Spencer is far more in the rotation than the former NBA Champion.

Regarding Spencer, he's finally gotten the opportunity this season to prove to the Warriors and the NBA what he can provide when given minutes. Spencer has logged three starts this season, where he averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.7 rebounds on 51.4% shooting from the field and 50% shooting from three-point range.

As for Horford, he's averaging just 5.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 32.1% from the field. He's far from the All-Star level player he used to be in Boston, and it seems as though Trayce Jackson-Davis and Quinten Post may have pushed him down the depth chart by the time he's back from injury.

Suns Injury Report

The Suns' injury report has several names listed, with Koby Brea (two-way) and Jalen Green (hamstring) listed as OUT for Phoenix. Grayson Allen (knee) and Isaiah Livers (hip) are listed as QUESTIONABLE. Jordan Godwin is the last name listed, as he's AVAILABLE as he wears a face mask due to a jaw injury.

While Phoenix has only gotten one healthy game from Green this season, they'll have their top two scorers in Devin Booker (25.1 PPG) and Dillon Brooks (21.6 PPG) available, with Brooks likely to see time guarding Curry.

Game Preview

As mentioned previously, the two sides have had similar past 10-game stretches, with both teams currently on two-game losing streaks. Golden State has some tough matchups ahead to close out December, and a win on Thursday can get them back on track.

Tip-off at the Mortgage Matchup Center is set for 9:00 p.m. EST.
