The Warriors rode a massive second-half run into a dominating win over the Kings.

The Golden State Warriors may have found their groove. Their current eight-game homestand started with an all-around 120-113 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, and the Warriors had a real chance to parlay that win with another victory on Friday night against the Sacramento Kings to create some real momentum moving forward.

Despite the 11.5 game difference between the two teams' records, it was a relatively close contest for the first two and a half quarters. However, the Warriors locked in at the end of the third quarter and rode a massive 53-19 run to end the game and come out with an easy 137-103 win.

Steph Curry Recognizes Warriors' Second Unit

That 53-19 run was started with just under three minutes remaining in the third quarter when the game was actually tied at 84. It began with a 15-0 run that bled into the fourth quarter and gave the Warriors all the cushion they needed to fully pull away.

Though those who didn't watch the game may think it was a classic "Curry Flurry" that propelled this big run, it was actually the second unit, led by Jimmy Butler, that created this momentum.

After the game, Steph Curry recognized the strength of the second unit and acknowledged how well they've been playing with Butler at the helm when Curry goes to the bench.

"(There's) clarity around getting organized when (Butler) has the ball at different spots on the court, so we have our spacing right. And then just the confidence that he's going to make a play, get downhill, swing it — whatever the case is, be ready to shoot, be ready to swing it on the backside, keep the ball moving."

"It helps when you just know what to do, and I think (Butler) is lifting that group. The way they ended the third quarter won the game, essentially."

Curry Leads All Scorers In Another Team-Oriented Game

Curry's 27 points led the Warriors in scoring for the 10th game in a row, excluding the Thunder game that he missed. But once again, the Warriors' impressive offensive performance was a team effort that saw multiple players have a big impact.

Butler was effective all-around, scoring 15 points to go with 6 rebounds and 6 assists, but De'Anthony Melton was once again the second-leading scorer. He had 19 points, including three triples, and looks to be truly recovered from any lingering effects of last year's ACL tear.

In addition to those three, four other players scored in double figures: Brandin Podziemski and Gary Payton II had 14 and 12 points off the bench, respectively, while Draymond Green and Quinten Post both chipped in 11.

The Warriors posted a season-high 39 assists while committing just 11 turnovers — one aspect of the game they've placed a high focus on recently and have been reaping the benefits of.

The win marks the Warriors' 8th win in their last 11 games and puts them 3 games above .500 for the first time since they were 9-6 back in mid-November. They'll try to keep the good times going as they welcome the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday evening.
