Warriors Rule Out Jonathan Kuminga For Contest Against The Timberwolves cover image

The Golden State Warriors have officially ruled out Jonathan Kuminga for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Golden State Warriors look to snap their two-game losing streak when they battle the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

The Warriors lost 123-115 to the Dallas Mavericks in their last contest, which was their first game on the road after an eight-game homestand. This is their second game of a four-game road trip, which includes back-to-back contests in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves have lost four straight games, falling to the Chicago Bulls in their last contest, 120-115. This is the second game of a three-game homestand for the team.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the Timberwolves and Warriors, and their first since December 12. The Wolves were victorious in the December matchup, 127-120.

Golden State Warriors Injury Report#

The Warriors have officially ruled OUT forward Jonathan Kuminga with left knee soreness.

Kuminga suffered the injury against the Mavericks, playing just nine minutes in the contest. Kuminga was a perfect 3-3 from the field and 4-4 from the line before the injury. Due to an injury to Jimmy Butler, Kuminga had just gotten back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch for 16 straight games.

Kuminga demanded a trade request prior to his return to the lineup.

The often maligned forward has played in 20 games this year, averaging 12.1 points and a career-high 5.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Jimmy Butler is, of course, OUT after suffering a torn ACL against the Miami Heat on January 19. He won't return this season.

Seth Curry remains OUT for the Warriors with left sciatic nerve irritation. The younger Curry has not played since December 4 and has played in only two games this season. On January 11th, it was reported that he was scheduled to miss at least two more weeks. There is no indication as to when he will return.

LJ Cryer and Malevy Leons are both OUT on G-League two-way deals.

Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report#

The Timberwolves are relatively healthy going into the back-to-back showdown with the Warriors. They have Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Rudy Gobert all good to go for the contest.

They will be without reserve Terrence Shannon Jr., who is OUT with a left foot abductor hallucis strain.

The second-year guard has been out since Christmas Day. In 22 games this season, Shannon Jr is averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Enrique Freeman and Rocco Zikarsky are both OUT due to G-League two-way deals.
