Warriors Still Without Key Starters Against Houston Rockets cover image

The Golden State Warriors are still without two of their top players against the Houston Rockets.

The Golden State Warriors try to get back in the win column on Thursday when they take on the Houston Rockets. 

The Warriors have dropped their last two games, both against Los Angeles teams. They lost the Clippers, 114-101, in their last contest. They are 4-6 in their last ten games. This begins a three game road trip for the team. At 31-30, the Warriors are eighth in the West, a game ahead of the Clippers. 

The Rockets picked up a victory over the Washington Wizards in their last game, 123-118. They have won four of their last five and are 7-3 in their last ten. They have two straight at home. They are 38-22, third in the West. 

Golden State Warriors Injury Report

The Warriors remain without Steph Curry, who is OUT with right patellofemoral pain syndrome. He's been out since January 30. On March 1, it was reported that he was expected to miss at least ten more days. 

Kristaps Porzingis also remains OUT with general illness. He has played in just one game for the Warriors since he was acquired from the Atlanta Hawks at the NBA trade deadline. He suited up on February 19, his first game since January 7, and played 17 minutes. 

There is no timetable for his return

Moses Moody is OUT with a right wrist sprain. He played 25 minutes against the Clippers, finishing with 10 points and 3 rebounds. He missed the first two games of the season, but hasn't missed a game since. In 59 games this year, he's averaging 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. 

Gary Payton II is QUESTIONABLE with left ankle impingement. He missed the game against the Clippers. He's averaging 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 55 games this season. 

Will Richard is OUT with a right ankle sprain. He also missed the game against the Clippers. He's averaging 7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 54 games this season. 

Seth Curry (left sciatic nerve irritation) and Jimmy Butler (right ACL surgery) are both OUT. 

Houston Rockets Injury Report

The Rockets could be without some key pieces as Amen Thompson (right ankle sprain), Jabari Smith Jr (right ankle sprain) and Alperen Sengun (illness) are all listed as QUESTIONABLE. 

Thompson and Sengun both played against the Wizards on Monday. Thompson logged 30 minutes while Sengun played 38 minutes. 

Smith Jr missed the game against the Wizards, his second straight missed contest. 

Jae'Sean Tate is OUT with a right knee sprain. He's been sidelined since February 21 and was expected to miss at least two weeks. 

Steven Adams (left ankle surgery) and Fred VanVleet (right ACL recovery) are OUT and won't return this season. 

Tristen Newton is OUT on a G-League two-way deal.
