Yaxel Lendebrog is ready to learn.
Yaxel Lendeborg has all of the traits that the Golden State Warriors could want in their first round pick from experience to size and to athleticism and not only is he looking forward to putting all of those traits to work, he's looking forward to learning even more from one of the Warriors' most iconic stars.
Lendeborg fits a crucial need for the Warriors at the forward position and with his size at 6'9 and 230 pounds, he profiles to be a premier physical threat that gives the Warriors some much needed presence on the court.
Luckily for both Lendeborg and the Warriors, they have already have one of the best forwards in of his generation in Draymond Green on the roster and Lendeborg is determined to latch on to Green and learn all he can from the four-time All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year.
Excited to Learn
"Draymond was such a pivotal, pivotal piece to all the championships that they have won. He's a phenomenal player and passer and all that stuff," Lendeborg said (via Kenzo Fukuda). "So I feel like learning from him and trying to get him to be my vet would be the most crucial part for me in my development."
Tutelage under Green would be a huge plus for Lendeborg. As his resume reveals, Green has made a career out of pestering, stifling defense and even though he doesn't have the same size as Lendeborg standing at 6'6, he's been able to make his presence felt on the court felt time and time again and has made himself nothing short of a physical menace to any opponent.
Being able to pass on those traits to Lendeborg presents huge potential but as Lendeborg said, defense isn't the extent of Green's game.
Diversifying Yaxel's Game
He's also made himself into a fantastic playmaker, especially for teammate Steph Curry, and with Lendeborg's versatility as an offensive player and his own experience on a talented roster with Michigan, learning even more from Green about how to use his physical presence to create opportunities for his teammates would go a long way.
It seems like Lendeborg and Green have already become fast friends, ribbing each other on social media about their time playing at rival school Michigan and Michigan State in college and just that bodes well for the kind of connection they can form as teammates.
Lendeborg presents a lot of potential for the Warriors and being able to study under Green is some of the best education that a rookie forward can have in the NBA.
