NBA preseason has arrived and while this period before the regular season gets fully underway is most critical for the young players looking to find their fit on the Golden State Warriors' roster, that doesn't mean that it isn't a good chance for the veterans on the roster to get some reps in as well.

Guard Steph Curry, forward Draymond Green and forward/center Al Horford were all projected to play roughly 12-15 minutes in Sunday's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, a rematch of the 2026 play-in tournament between the two teams where the Warriors emerged victorious, and that projection stayed true.

Horford led the way among the Golden State veterans with 16 minutes per game and in that time he scored three points on 1-5 shooting, with those three points coming from the lone three pointer that he made in the game.

Horford also totaled three rebounds, one assist and one steal in those 16 minutes, showcasing the defense that the Warriors will need out of the 40-year-old this season.

Curry had the next-most minutes among the Warriors' three veterans at 13 minutes, which went as expected for the two-time MVP. Curry scored 10 points while shooting 3-4 from the field and 2-3 from three point range, so his patented three point shooting ability will be back with him for his 18th season, not that there was any doubt in that department.

On top of his scoring, Curry recorded two rebounds, two assists and one steal for a well-rounded preseason performance.

Green came in third on the usage chart among the Golden State veterans at 14 minutes, recording two points, both from free throws, along with two rebounds, two assists and a team-leading three steals.

The former Defensive Player of the Year's defensive acumen has never been a question for the Warriors, but seeing him still be such a defensive menace in such little time remains impressive.

The Warriors' next preseason game will be at home against the Los Angeles Lakers, so the veterans will likely be making appearances for the Chase Center crowd as well, but per a report from Anthony Slater, some of the Golden State veterans are expected to miss the Warriors' next preseason game after that against the Portland Trailblazers.

It's a small sample size and not one that's truly necessary to evaluate how some of the longest-tenured players in the league will hold up heading into the regular season, but it's still a good chance to get some eyes on the veterans and get them warmed up heading into 2026-27.
