When: Sunday, April 4, 3:30 PM
Where: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY
TV: Monumental Sports Network, League Pass
Coming off another brutal loss giving up 150+ points for the second straight game to extend their losing streak to five games, the Washington Wizards find themselves in another (and last) tank bowl of the regular season against the Brooklyn Nets on their final back to back of the season.
Both teams at the very bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and fighting for a top draft pick, will square off on Sunday afternoon. The Wizards are currently down 2-1 in the regular season series against them, and they can even it all up to break their losing streak again. Washington is 1-9 in their last 10 games, where their opponents have averaged an astounding 131.3 points per game against them. Sunday's game may be the end of the back to back 150+ points given up streak.
Shorthanded yet again, Washington will look for Will Riley to continue his solid scoring run, last game putting up 31 points in their loss. Sharife Cooper also had a good night offensively, posting 20 points on the night. The Wizards still had a good offense night last game, putting up 136 points and eight Wizards scoring double digit points. If they want a win this game, they would not be opposed to having that type of performance again, just a much better defense outing this time around though.
Currently a game back from the Nets, a loss here puts them two games behind and continues their run of the worst record in the league streak for this season. This may be Washington's last chance for an easy win for the remainder of the season, and it comes with exactly one week of basketball left to play.
The Wizards will be shorthanded once again when they take the floor with Anthony Davis, Cam Whitmore, Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, D'Angelo Russell and Trae Young all ruled out. Justin Champagnie, Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Tristan Vukcevic all enter tipoff with a questionable designation to add life to what could be a more complete rotation in hopes of avoiding another double digit loss.
The Nets will be without Nic Claxton, Egor Demin, Michael Porter Jr., Day'Ron Sharpe, Ziaire Williams and Danny Wolf. Noah Clowney and Ben Saraf both enter tipoff with a questionable tag.
Washington enters Sunday's slate with the league's worst record, a feat they are looking to hang onto to end the regular season, with a one game lead over both the Nets and Indiana Pacers.
