The Washington Wizards are back in action for the first of four matchups against its divisional opponent, Miami Heat.

Washington has alternated wins and losses over its last six games, while Miami will look to end a two-game losing streak after falling by two points against the Boston Celtics on Friday night, dropping their fourth game over their last six.

Miami enters Sunday's contest without Tyler Herro while Pelle Larsson is listed as doubtful due to a right elbow contusion that will keep him sidelined for the 13th consecutive game. Bam Adebayo is ruled probable with right hip tightness, while Kasparov Jakucionis, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, Dru Smith and Andrew Wiggins are all listed as available for Miami. Norman Powell enters tipoff after suffering a right hand sprain.

As for Washington, after being without ten players for Saturday's road game against Brooklyn, they could face similar depth on Sunday. The Wizards ruled out Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy, Tre Johnson, Cam Whitmore and Trae Young.

Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George, Anthony Gill, Alex Sarr and Tristan Vukcevic also enter tipoff with a questionable designation.

Washington also announced that Dante Exum, who joined the team in the Anthony Davis trade, was waived ahead of tipoff. D'Angelo Russell is also listed as 'not with team' on the injury report, though the team has yet to officially announce a move.

That means Washington will likely lean on its young and emerging pieces once again, including the team's most recent first round pick who has capitalized on expanded opportunities over the last two weeks.

For the third time in his last four games, rookie Will Riley set a new career-high in scoring after finishing with a team-high 27 points against Brooklyn, while shooting over 50% from the field including his fifth consecutive game with at least two made threes.

"He's got such a unique skillset - size, to be able to read the defense and I think he's just getting more comfortable within our offense where he can pick his spots," head coach Brian Keefe said of Riley. "He's pretty gifted in a way that he processes the game and sees angles and he's got great footwork and pivoting. He's just growing, getting more comfortable with everything we're doing."

Sunday marks Washington's final home game ahead of NBA All Star Weekend, giving the new-look roster a chance to hit the rest ahead of the final two months of the 2025-26 regular season.
