After winning the tank bowl against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, the Washington Wizards are set to close out its five-game homestand on Tuesday night against the New York Knicks.

This marks the first matchup between the two teams since the Knicks handed the Wizards a 119-102 loss in The Garden back. on Nov. 3 despite 19 points, eight rebounds and seven rebounds from Alex Sarr. He enters Tuesday's matchup still averaging a team-high 17.6 points and 7.7 rebounds while ranked second in the NBA behind Victor Wembanyama with 2.1 blocks per game.

The good news is the Wizards will get Sarr, who was sidelined for Sunday's win due to a calf injury, back on Tuesday night after being omitted from Monday's injury report. He will have one of his tougher tests this season against Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, who has found himself in trade rumors over the last month though enters Tuesday leading the league with 11.8 rebounds per game.

Washington once again rule out Tre Johnson with a left ankle sprain suffered against the Bucks on Jan. 29, keeping him out for the third consecutive game. Johnson remains inactive alongside Tristan Vekcevic, Cam Whitmore and Trae Young. Anthony Gill is also ruled questionable heading into Tuesday due to a right hand contusion.

New York will have a pair of rotational players sidelined against the Wizards with Miles McBride ruled out due to left ankle injury management, while Mitchell Robinson will miss Tuesday's game after suffering a left ankle injury in Sunday's win against Los Angeles.

The Knicks enter Tuesday's matchup winning six consecutive games, a win streak sparked by a 54-point win against Brooklyn before beating Los Angeles, 112-100, on Sunday. Washington, meanwhile, has won three of their last four games all by ten points or less with a 31-point against Luka Doncic and the Lakers on Friday night the lone blemish.

Washington will look to bounce back from a humiliating effort against the Knicks to show more competitive juice against New York, while they're fresh off a game where the starters were sidelined for the final 16 minutes of regulation, helping both Will Riley and Tre Johnson set career-highs through the final quarter.

Washington enters tipoff tied with Brooklyn for the fourth-best odds to win the top overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft with Sunday's win over Sacramento giving the Kings the current edge heading into February. New Orleans, who sends their pick to Atlanta, and Indiana enter Tuesday with the second and third-best odds. But for a young Wizards team that has shown signs of optimism through much of the last three months, they'll look to close out the home slate on a high note.

Following Tuesday's home game, Washington will hit the road for two consecutive games on the road beginning with Detroit on Thursday for a 7 PM tipoff.
