Milwaukee Bucks (18-27) vs. Washington Wizards (11-34)
When: Thursday, Jan, 29, 7:00 p.m. ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C.
TV/Streaming: Prime Video, Monumental Sports Network, League Pass
After snapping a nine game losing streak following a four-point win against Deni Avdija and the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, the Washington Wizards are back in action for the fourth and final matchup of the 2025-26 season against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Washington will be without a familiar bunch with Marvin Bagley III (thoracic strain), Tristan Vukcevic (left hamstring strain) and Trae Young (right knee; MCL sprain, quad contusion) along with Cam Whitmore's season ending injury. The Bucks, meanwhile, will be without four with Kevin Porter Jr, Taurean Prince and both Giannis and Alex Antetokounmpo ruled out.
Of course, Giannis' absence comes exactly one day after news broke that a divorce between he and the Milwaukee Bucks may finally come to fruition with Giannis officially ready for a new home and several teams across the league making "aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen."
It's a fast fall from grace for a Bucks team that opted to part ways with former head coach Adrian Griffin despite a 30-13 start to open the 2023-24 season with Milwaukee just 85-81 overall since then under head coach Doc Rivers, including consecutive first round exits in the playoffs.
How Milwaukee responds in their first game since the trade rumors remains to be seen, though similar to Tuesday, Thursday's home game will mark the return of another familiar face with Kyle Kuzma set to return to Capital One Arena.
Kuzma ranks fourth on the team in scoring among players active in Thursday's game with Ryan Rollins entering the matchup averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game.
Milwaukee has also dropped each of their last three games and seven of their last nine as they sit comfortably on the outside-looking-in of the playoffs as it stands ahead of a likely Antetokounmpo trade ahead of next week's trade deadline.
But Thursday will also mark a special day inside Capital One Arena with legendary Wizards point guard John Wall set to be honored with the first 15,000 fans in attendance set to receive a John Wall bobblehead. Wall-themed videos and in-game activities are also expected to take place throughout the game, while a celebration of his contributions to both the city and franchise are set to be honored at halftime including a donation from Ted and Zach Leonsis to the John Wall Family Foundation.
Selected with the top overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall led the franchise to three playoff appearances and remains the franchise leader in total assists (5,282) and steals (976).
“From the moment John Wall joined our organization, he set the standard for what it means to represent the Wizards franchise—with integrity, competitiveness, and an unwavering commitment to his teammates, our fans, and the District,” said Ted Leonsis, founder, chairman, managing partner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
