The Washington Wizards enter a brutal March stretch beginning Tuesday with their next eight games against seven teams all sitting above .500 ahead of the final full month of the regular season.

Miami enters the meeting on a five game winning streak, including consecutive wins against the Brooklyn Nets, as head coach Erik Spoelstra looks to return to the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season.

Norman Powell enters the matchup as the team's leading scorer, averaging 22.5 points per game, and joins Tyler Herro as the lone players averaging 20 or more points on the floor Tuesday. Bam Adebayo is averaging just shy of a double-double with 18.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Tre Johnson, meanwhile, is coming off an impressive showing after posting his froth 20-point game of the 2025-26 season behind four made threes, becoming the fastest player to record 100 made threes in franchise history.

Tuesday night will mark the second meeting of the season between the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat with the Heat taking the first matchup in a 31-point blowout loss back on Feb. 8. But the upcoming matchup will have a much different feel to it with both Tre Johnson and Trae Young available while Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George and Bilal Couliably combined for 32 points in the first meeting.

Washington wil be shorthanded with familiar names out once again with Anthony Davis, Kyshawn George, D'Angelo Russell, Jamir Watkins and Cam Whitmore all ruled out. Tristan Vukcevic, who has missed the last four games due to a left thigh bruise, is no longer listed on the injury report and is available to make his first appearance of the month. Alex Sarr, of course, remains available with fans able to watch the early connection with Trae Young to give the Wizards the high-low impact presence that it has waited for.

Miami will also be shorthanded with Keshad Johnson, Nikola Jovic, Norman Powell, Terry Rozier, Andrew Wiggins and Jahmir Young all ruled out. Kel'el Ware is listed as quest due to a right shoulder sprain, while Simone Fontecchio is ruled probable due to a left groin strain that he suffered. Davion Mitchell is listed as available despite being listed on the injury report with a left shoulder contusion.

Thursday also marks the first of three consecutive road games for Washington with matchups against both the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics looming.
