The losing streak continued in the third and final game of the three-game road trip after being dominated by the Boston Celtics, 111-100.
Washing trailed by as many as 30 points in the later loss before a fourth quarter run narrowed the gap and threatened single digits. Still, the Wizards have now lost 11 consecutive games and stand at 16-50 overall this season.
But it would be Tristan Vukcevic who was the spark of the Wizards' offense early, scoring 11 points behind three made three pointers over just a four minute span. He finished with a season-high 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 6-of-7 from three, in 20 minutes in the loss.
Trae Young also registered 11 points and six assists in 24 minutes, the most he has played in a Wizards uniform.
Jamir Watkins added 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds, in 24 minutes. Bub Carrington also tallied eight assists, his most since Jan. 24 against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Wizards opened the game battling the Celtics, and even taking the lead late in the quarter after a Jamir Watkins three.
But that quickly evaporated after the Celtics outscored the Wizards, 35-14, in the second quarter with Boston's offense finding no trouble scoring. That included Celtics big man Neemias Queta, who scored 22 points by halftime with Washington trailing by 23.
With Boston largely maintaining a 20 point or more lead through the third quarter with Tatum and Queta both finishing with 20 points or more, the Wizards jumped out to a 14-7 run through the first half of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 14 highlighted by an emphatic dunk by Watkins in transition.
Justin Champagnie also took a hard fall in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter on a dunk attempt on Luka Garza, leading him to leave the game and head to the locker room.
Another three from Vukcevic would bring the Wizards within 12 points, but Jayson Tatum would seemingly put the break on any possible last minute comeback after stripping Will Riley for a fast break dunk, keeping the Celtics' lead at 14 points with three minutes remaining.
Washington will now return home to face Golden State on Monday, March 16 for the first time this season. It also marks the start of a brutal stretch games for the Wizards inside Capital One Arena with the Detroit Pistons set to meet twice in three days before hosting Oklahoma City on Saturday evening.
