Coming off the first loss of the regular season, the Washington Wizards held off the Chicago Bulls' fourth quarter comeback to take a 124-120 finish for the first road win of the season, moving to 2-1.

Trae Young finished with a team-high 26 points on 46.2% shooting from the field, making all free throws, while adding nine assists in nearly 34 minutes. Through his first three games of the season, Young's 34 assists rank tied for second in franchise history.

Anthony Davis also added 19 points in nearly 31 minutes in his hometown return, while Tre Johnson added 13 points on 50% shooting. Alex Sarr also posted an efficient game after tallying ten points and a pair of rebounds while shooting 5-of-7 from the field in 23 minutes.

The Wizards also led by as many as 21 points after outscoring Chicago, 40-20, in the third quarter before watching the lead dwindle to as little as three over the final two minutes.

The Bulls were able to grab a lead through the opening minutes of the game before Justin Champagnie checked in, sparking a 17-9 run that helped the Wizards grab the lead on the final play of the quarter, courtesy of a tip in from Deandre Ayton. Bilal Coulibaly, beating the Bulls' full court pressure, would then deliver arguably the highlight of the game with a coast-to-coast poster dunk before the Bulls took a five-point lead into the locker room at halftime.

Yet Anthony Davis and Kyshawn George would team up in the third quarter after combining for 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while the Bulls' outside shooting efforts stayed cold en route to the Wizards doubling up on paint points. A 13-0 Bulls run midway through the final quarter would set up the late game scare before a pair of free throws from Anthony Davis then four courtesy of Trae Young iced the game in the closing seconds.

The Wizards will look to secure its second consecutive win on the road when they face the Charlotte Hornets, who also sit at 2-1 overall, on Monday night. AJ Dybantsa, who did not travel with the team to Chicago, is expected to re-join the team for the upcoming road game with all eyes on when he makes his NBA debut.
