The Washington Wizards have tied a franchise record after suffering their 16th consecutive loss, this time a 32-point loss against the New York Knicks.
The Washington Wizards have now lost 16 consecutive games for the third season in a row, after their 145-113 defeat against the New York Knicks on March 22, 2026.
Washington is only one game in front of the Indiana Pacers for the worst record in the NBA following this loss.
Today's loss against New York marks the ninth straight season where Washington has failed to take the season series against New York.
With that being said, Washington was significantly short handed today, as they were without Alex Sarr, Tre Johnson, Trae Young, Kyshawn George and other key players, so this loss shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.
Washington saw newly acquired guard Jaden Hardy have a breakout game in the red, white and blue, as he scored a team high of 25 points on 9/18 FG off the bench. Hardy played 25 minutes, but continued to flash his scoring ability -- something that could get him a spot in next years rotation.
In 15 games for Washington, Hardy has averaged 11.9 points on 44.8% FG, 40.8% 3FG, and 78.3% FT in 20 minutes played per game.
Washington also got some solid production from their youth core in Will Riley, Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly.
Riley had another strong performance tonight, as he poured in 11 points on 4/9 FG with four assists. The rookie has now scored double digit points in eight of his last 11 games, and is averaging 14.5 points per game in the month of March.
Riley is looking like a legitimate star in the making, as his scoring ability and basketball IQ differentiate him from other rookies around the association.
Coulibaly continues to build on his stellar month of March with his sixth straight game scoring double digit points. Tonight, Coulibaly poured in 13 points on 5/12 FG, with five rebounds, three assists, three steals answered two blocks. Coulibaly not only has gotten comfortable offensively, but continues to display his elite defense by recording five stocks (steals + blocks).
Coulibaly is now averaging 16 points, 4.6 rebounds, three assists with 1.8 stocks a game on 44.2% FG, 41.7% 3FG and 80.0% FT in the month of March.
Carrington displayed his offensive growth, scoring 14 points on 4/9 FG. However, where Carrington really impressed tonight was with his playmaking as he dished out eight assists and only turned the ball over three times.
Washington also saw Anthony Gill score 18 points (8/10 FG), Tristan Vukcevic with 13 (5/9 FG) and Sharife Cooper with 11 (5/10 FG).
Washington is now in a prime position to secure a top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, and will be back in action on Wednesday where they'll fly out west and take on the Utah Jazz on the road.
