Anthony Davis unveils his surprising take on the Wizards' organization and reveals his championship aspirations with the team's budding young talent.
When the Washington Wizards traded for Anthony Davis on Feburary 4, 2026, the front office understood the type of player they were trading for.
Davis is one of the best big men of the 21st century, as his 10 All-Star appearances and four All-NBA first team selections prove that. However, it is widely known across the league that Davis is not the same player he used to be, as injuries have shortened his prime years.
With that being said, Washington decided to take a chance on Davis as they believe he can bring a winning culture back to the nations capital, with Davis believing the same.
On April 13, 2026, Washington held an end of the season interview with Davis where he spoke on his perspective and goals with Washington.

"I can personally say now, it's not what people think or what people make it seem... the organization within itself is totally different from what people make it seem," said Davis.
Since the 2021-22 season, Washington's 120-290 record is the worst in the entire association. However, Davis is optimistic with what Washington is building, especially their young core.
"Seeing the way these guys work, seeing the way these guys compete, you watch in a game and see the way they compete, it was really motivational and inspiring to see that. Even with losing basketball games, they still find ways to find the competitive juices and competitive nature of the game, to go out and compete at the highest level," said Davis.
Washington's young core of Kyshawn George, Alex Sarr, Tre Johnson, Bilal Coulibaly, Will Riley, Bub Carrington and others have all seen significant growth in their development over the past two seasons.
Additionally, Davis talked about the time when Washington defeated his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, in the second game of the regular season on the backs of George's 32 point performance.
Davis won his first and only NBA championship in the 2020 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, but is hungry and driven to reach the mountaintop once more, this time with Washington.
"I want to be able to have fun where I am. I want to be able to compete where I am. I want to be able to learn who I am wherever I am, and this organization like has that," said Davis.
Davis has not only raved about the future and direction of this team, but believes they have the players and staff to compete for an NBA championship next season.
