On the latest episode of Bleav in Wizards Podcast, we dive into AJ Dybantsa's NBA debut and the early season takeaways of the Washington Wizards' 2026-27 regular season

On the latest episode of the Bleav in Wizards Podcast, hosted by Matt Modderno of Sleepers Media joined with Washington Wizards forward Jahadi White, we dive into the debut of top overall pick AJ Dybantsa after making his long-awaited return to the court this week.

After being ruled out with an ankle injury through the first four games of the 2026-27 regular season, Dybantsa took the floor for the first time in a Wizards uniform against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Dybantsa filled up the stat sheet on a minutes restriction after posting a team high 19 points while adding a pair of rebounds and assists in 27 minutes. Yet he also did so by hitting one of his three three-point attempts, while shooting 66.7% from the field. We discuss what the Wizards' rookie has already shown, why his debut lived up to expectations and look ahead at his home debut against the Charlotte Hornets when group play in the NBA Cup begins on Friday night inside Capital One Arena.

Yet the second half collapse against the Cleveland Cavaliers also proved to be a game of concern for a new-look Wizards' team that is still working through the early season kinks. Cleveland outscored Washington by 20 points over the final half en route to a ten point loss, dropping head coach Brian Keefe to 2-3 overall in a disappointing start. How it happened with the Cavaliers dominating the Wizards on the board marked the biggest concern with the rebounding questions an ongoing sore spot, marking a surprising weakness for a team that entered the regular season with a double big identity and Anthony Davis, Alex Sarr and Deandre Ayton anchoring an upgraded frontcourt. How concerning is the early season trend? Jahadi White discusses what he has seen and what the fixes can be.

Plus, we discuss how the Wizards are going to have to address the absence of Justin Champagnie over the next three months while looking ahead at the next stretch of the regular season with matchups against the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons looming.
