The Washington Wizards are set for the final preseason home game when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night

Two days after securing the overtime win against the Detroit Pistons, the Washington Wizards are now set for the second and final preseason game at Capital One Arena when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night for a 7 PM tipoff.

Though the Wizards have a chance to preserve the unbeaten start to the four game preseason schedule in a matchup featuring a pair of 2-0 teams, Washington will also enter the matchup with the bulk of the rotation available after Alex Sarr made his preseason debut vs. Detroit. After showcasing why the added size and length to the roster can make an immediate impact on defense in game one, followed by chemistry on offense through the opening quarter in game two, the Wizards have a chance to showcase something different on Monday night: improved efficiency.

Washington currently leads the NBA with 25.5 turnovers through two games after totaling 29 turnovers against the Pistons, two days after overcoming 22 turnovers in a road win against the Knicks. Head coach Brian Keefe admitted the offense will be a work in progress with so many players still getting acclimated with one another, though it comes as the Wizards ranked 29th in 2025-26 after becoming one of five teams to average at least 15 turnovers per game.

With a chance to trim those numbers in game three, Monday offers the next chance for the Wizards to gel together with Trae Young, AJ Dybantsa and Anthony Davis expected to anchor the rotation once again.

The Wizards will also have a chance to test themselves against a team approaching full strength with both Michael Porter Jr. and Day'Ron Sharpe expected to return to the lineup after being inactive in Thursday's win over the Philadelphia Sixers. The Nets are expected to be without Mikel Brown Jr. and Joshua Jefferson, while the Wizards enter tipoff with two availability questions as head coach Brian Keefe noted during training camp that veteran wing Khris Middleton is ramping up his team activities. Tre Mann was also inactive for Saturday's win against the Pistons. Tristan Vukcevic remains sidelined with a left hip impingement after the team previously announced he will be re-evaluated later in October.

Following Monday's 7 PM tipoff, the Wizards are set to close out the preseason slate on the road when they take on Julian Reese and the New Orleans Pelicans for an 8 PM tipoff on Friday night.
