Several of the top top 2026 NBA Draft prospect met with the Washington Wizards during the scouting combine this week

Day two of the NBA scouting combine materialized with scrimmages for the bulk of prospects, but for the top prospects, Wednesday served as the day when they get a chance to sit down for interviews with both coaches and media.

That gave another chance for insight from the top prospects, including none other than AJ Dybantsa, who many peg as the early favorite to become the top overall pick in next month's draft.

Dybantsa was asked again about the possibility of the prospects of playing alongside an intriguing Wizards roster where he pointed to the presence of "an All Star point guard" in Trae Young.

"And an All Star five man in Anthony Davis. They have Tre Johnson, Will Riley who are gems, they have Bub Carrington. I met Kyshawn George one time but I think it would just be a good young core that could fit in and really play fast," he added.

Dybantsa also pointed to his versatility as reason for his fit in DC.

"I think I can bring a lot to the team on and off the court. I think I play the game the right way. I'm exciting and I fill seats."

Boozer wasn't the only player to meet with the Wizards with Darryn Peterson, who admitted he has never visited Washington, DC before, also meeting with the front office on Wednesday.

So did Cam Boozer, the Duke forward who is projected to be among the first picks in next month's draft. With the chance to upgrade the frontcourt, Boozer pointed to the potential fit on and off the court with the Wizards.

"I think I fit well there. Their vision, their plan for the future. Obviously DC is a great city so we had a good conversation for sure."

A report also floated on Wednesday that Dybantsa's camp prefers Utah over Washington given the former five-star settled in at Utah Prep Academy for his senior season before committing to BYU, giving him two years to get comfortable in the area. Yet it's on brand for the types of rumors and speculation that have emerged with immediate speculation about the Utah Jazz attempting to flip with the Wizards in the draft order, one of two teams already showing interest in the top pick.
