Another season of Alabama basketball excellence is being recognized across the Southeastern Conference, as three Crimson Tide players have earned postseason honors from the league. Labaron Philon Jr., Aden Holloway and Amari Allen were all recognized Monday afternoon, highlighting the depth, development and star power that continues to define Nate Oats’ program in Tuscaloosa.
Leading the way for Alabama basketball is Labaron Philon Jr., who earned First Team All-SEC honors after a tremendous season running the Tide offense. Philon has been the steady hand Alabama has leaned on all year long, showcasing elite scoring ability, leadership and a fearless mentality when the game is on the line. Time and time again this season, Philon delivered in big moments, proving why he is one of the most dynamic guards in the conference.
For Philon, the honor also continues a remarkable trend under head coach Nate Oats. Over the past seven seasons, Alabama basketball has consistently produced elite talent, with Philon becoming the sixth Crimson Tide player to earn First Team All-SEC recognition during that span. That level of consistency speaks volumes about the culture and development happening inside the program.
Aden Holloway also received postseason recognition, earning Third Team All-SEC honors after putting together a strong and steady campaign. Holloway’s ability to stretch the floor, create offense and deliver when Alabama needed a spark made him a key part of the Tide’s success this season. This honor marks the second SEC postseason recognition of his career, after previously being named to the conference’s All-Freshman team earlier in his career.
Meanwhile, freshman Amari Allen continues to show that the future of Alabama basketball remains incredibly bright. Allen was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team, becoming the latest young star to emerge in Nate Oats’ system. His athleticism, energy and confidence have made an immediate impact, and it’s clear that Allen is only scratching the surface of what he can become.
The recognition for Allen also continues another impressive trend. Since Oats took over the program in 2019, Alabama has produced nine SEC All-Freshman selections, tied for the most in the conference during that span.
Simply put, Alabama basketball continues to recruit, develop and elevate talent at an elite level.
And with players like Philon, Holloway and Allen leading the charge, the Crimson Tide isn’t just competing in the SEC , they’re setting the standard.
Roll Tide.
