Green Bay adds a speedy cornerback with a chip on his shoulder. Domani Jackson aims to prove his Alabama potential on the NFL stage.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have had several players taken in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The surprise pick of course was quarterback Ty Simpson going to the Los Angeles Rams as the No. 13 pick. He's not expected to be a Day 1 starter with Matthew Stafford under center, but could develop into the NFL MVP's successor.
In Day 3, the Crimson Tide had a cornerback taken off the board. Domani Jackson was taken by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 201 pick.
The Packers entered the weekend needing to add help in the secondary. Jackson could develop into a key defender for the Packers.
Scouting Report
Lance Zierlein of NFL Media predicted Jackson to land in the sixth round. He thinks Jackson will need to gain confidence to progress in the league.
"Jackson is a smooth athlete with good size and elite track speed," Zierlein wrote. "In totality, the play and production have failed to match the traits dating back to his days at USC (2022-2023), but his 2024 tape gives evaluators the best look at his ceiling.
"He can disrupt from press but can be a step slow to transition in-phase from man. Tampa 2 and deep-zone coverages suit him best. Scheme won’t matter as much as consistency and confidence for Jackson, though."
What Domani Jackson can bring the Green Bay Packers
During the NFL Combine in February, Jackson was honest about his shortcoming at Alabama. He wants to prove teams wrong about his abilities.
“I think a lot of teams just feel a little inconsistency by my play, but I'm here to prove everybody wrong and just give them my story,” Jackson said, via Sports Illustrated.
“I wasn't living up to that standard. Alabama holds you to a standard. If you're not living up to it, you will get replaced. I mean, it's a room full of talent.”
The Packers are gaining a cornerback with a chip on his shoulder for the upcoming season. That could be a plus for new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.
Jackson recorded 126 tackles and two interceptions during his time with Alabama.
