Alabama football is officially turning the page on another era, as three key contributors, running back Jam Miller, center Parker Brailsford, and wide receiver Germie Bernard have announced they are moving on to the 2026 NFL Draft. Their departures leave major holes on both sides of the offense and mark the end of productive careers in Tuscaloosa.
The most significant announcement came Monday when Alabama center Parker Brailsford confirmed he will forgo his remaining eligibility and enter the draft. A transfer from Washington, Brailsford quickly became the anchor of Alabama’s offensive line over the past two seasons. His impact was immediate and lasting. He earned FWAA All-American honors in 2024 and followed that up with an All-SEC selection in 2025, solidifying his reputation as one of the premier interior linemen in college football. Many were expecting him to return to Tuscaloosa for one more season.
Brailsford’s leadership, consistency, and football IQ were invaluable for an Alabama offense that experienced transition and instability at times. His departure leaves a major leadership void in the trenches and creates a critical position battle heading into the offseason.
Wide receiver Germie Bernard is also headed to the next level after exhausting his eligibility. In just two seasons at Alabama after transferring from Washington, Bernard made a lasting impression. He finished his Crimson Tide career with 114 receptions for 1,656 yards and nine touchdowns, proving to be one of the most reliable and impactful players on the offense. Bernard consistently showed up in big moments, providing a dependable target and veteran presence in the receiver room. His production and experience will be difficult to replace.
Running back Jam Miller’s path was more complex but no less meaningful. While Miller struggled at times with injuries, he still put together a productive career in crimson and white. He finished with 349 carries for 1,596 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, while also contributing 40 receptions for 336 yards and two scores through the air. Miller’s versatility allowed him to impact the game as both a runner, receiver, and blocker, and when healthy, he provided balance to the offense.
Together, the departures of Miller, Brailsford, and Bernard represent a deep loss for Alabama. Each brought a different skill set, leadership style, and level of experience to the program. As Alabama looks ahead to the 2026 season, replacing their production will be one of the biggest challenges facing the coaching staff.
There’s no question Alabama will miss all three, but their legacies are secure as they take the next step toward the NFL.
