Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson has sent a strong message to his critics before the NFL Draft.

Alabama Crimson Tide star Ty Simpson is widely viewed as the second-best quarterback in this year's NFL Draft class, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is going to be a first-round pick this month.

This upcoming quarterback crop is very thin as a whole, so Simpson being QB2 is not really a huge vote of confidence right now.

But what does Simpson have to say about all of his detractors?

He made his thoughts abundantly clear during a recent appearance on Chase Daniel's podcast.

“It’s preposterous how people view me when they haven’t even seen me in person and seen what I could do,” Simpson said.

Daniel asked Simpson why people seem to have questions about his arm strength, and the Alabama product didn't quite understand.

"That's a great question. Come watch me throw and everybody will refrain from that from now on," Simpson said.

Simpson threw for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 64.5 percent of his passes this past season. Multiple injuries he sustained throughout the year definitely affected him, but that hasn't changed the perception scouts generally have of the Martin, Tn. native.

The biggest issue many seem to have with Simpson is that he does not have a standout trait. His arm talent is viewed as only decent, and he doesn't possess elite size or athleticism. Plus, he only made 15 starts on the collegiate level.

"Everybody [says] I'm not the most athletic guy, and I just laugh that off too, you know what I mean?" Simpson added.

Earlier in the 2025 college football season, Simpson was considered to be a top-five pick, but his draft stock slipped as the year progressed.

Now, there are many who feel he could possibly slide into the second round, where teams like the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns would potentially be waiting to scoop him up.

But could either of those clubs — or another quarterback-needy club — nab Simpson on Day 1 of the draft in a couple of weeks? It remains to be seen.

Simpson definitely has a whole lot of doubters, and he will face an uphill battle when it comes to proving them wrong.
