Crimson Tide stars earned major national honors after a dominant Tallahassee sweep, showcasing electrifying hitting and historic pitching performances.

If anyone around the country was still wondering whether Alabama softball is for real this season, this past weekend in Tallahassee answered that question loud and clear.

After a perfect 4-0 showing on the road, including two massive Top 10 wins over Florida State, the Crimson Tide didn’t just leave with victories.

They left with hardware.

Alexis Pupillo, Kaitlyn Pallozzi, and Vic Moten were all recognized nationally, each earning major weekly honors from different publications. That kind of across-the-board recognition doesn’t happen unless a team is doing something special.

Let’s start with Pupillo, who was nothing short of electric at the plate. She hit an eye-popping .538 over the weekend and delivered in every single game. Power. Consistency. Clutch moments. It was all there. Her three home runs all came against Florida State... on the road, in a hostile environment, against elite pitching. That’s not just good hitting… that’s big-time hitting. When Alabama needed offense the most, she delivered, and national outlets took notice by naming her Softball America’s Star Player of the Week.

In the circle, the future looks terrifyingly bright for opposing teams thanks to freshman Kaitlyn Pallozzi. She opened the weekend by doing something that had literally never been done before by a freshman in program history: throwing a perfect game. Not a one-hitter. Not a shutout with traffic on the bases. Perfect. Every batter retired. For a program with Alabama’s pitching legacy, that tells you just how historic the moment was. It also earned her multiple national Freshman of the Week honors, along with SEC recognition.

And then there’s Vic Moten, who continues to pitch like a seasoned ace rather than a newcomer. She went into Tallahassee and shut down one of the nation’s best offenses, tossing a complete-game shutout against a Top 10 team. That alone would have been impressive, but she followed it up with dominant relief work to secure another win. Perhaps the most jaw-dropping stat of all: she hasn’t allowed a run in nearly four full games’ worth of innings. That level of dominance travels anywhere.

What makes this even more exciting for Alabama fans is that these performances didn’t come in February tune-up games against overmatched opponents. They came on the road, against elite competition, under pressure. That’s where championship teams begin to reveal themselves.

Patrick Murphy has a squad that isn’t just talented, it’s fearless.

Power at the plate.

Depth in the circle.

Young players already performing on the national stage.

If this weekend was any indication, Alabama softball isn’t just chasing postseason success this year.

They’re positioning themselves to be one of the teams everyone else fears when May arrives.
