Freshman Kaitlyn Pallozzi makes history with an untouchable perfect game, igniting Alabama's undefeated season and signaling a program-changing freshman class.

Alabama softball isn’t just winning games right now, they’re making history.

The Crimson Tide continues to look like a completely different team in 2026, and the latest proof came early Friday morning in Tallahassee. Freshman pitcher Kaitlyn Pallozzi delivered a performance that will be remembered for years, throwing a perfect game in a 7-0 win over Elon at the Dugout Club Classic.

Not a no-hitter.

Not a dominant outing with a few baserunners.

Perfect.

On just 87 pitches, Pallozzi retired every single batter she faced, recording the sixth perfect game in program history, and the first since Alabama legend Montana Fouts did it in 2023.

Even more remarkable?

Pallozzi is the first freshman in Alabama softball history to ever accomplish the feat.

Let that sink in.

A freshman.

On one of the biggest stages of the early season.

Wearing the script “A.”

Moments like this don’t just win games, they reveal what a team is becoming.

Offensively, the Tide backed their young ace with more of the power surge that has defined this hot start. Freshman Ana Roman delivered the biggest swing of the day, crushing a three-run home run in the fifth inning to break things open.

Roman finished with five RBIs, including a two-run double earlier in the game that put Alabama on the board and set the tone.

Through 10 games, Roman already leads the team with four home runs, another sign that this freshman class isn’t here to wait its turn, they’re here to change the trajectory of the program right now.

With the victory, Alabama improved to a perfect 10–0 on the season, continuing a start that has propelled the Tide up to No. 6 in this week’s Softball America Top 25 rankings.

And honestly, it feels earned.

This team is playing with confidence, depth, and a toughness that looks far different from a year ago.

But the real measuring stick is still ahead.

Alabama will face No. 7 Florida State later Friday in what shapes up to be its biggest test of the season so far, the kind of matchup that shows whether a fast start is simply momentum… or something much more meaningful.

One thing is clear: this team is young, fearless, and rapidly improving.

And if performances like Pallozzi’s perfect game are any indication, Alabama softball isn’t just off to a good start in 2026.

They might be building something special.

Roll Tide.
