Crimson Tide's offense explodes, pitching stifles opponents. Alabama unleashes 16 runs, securing an 18-0 season start with dominant performances.
If there’s one word to describe this Alabama softball team right now, it’s relentless.
On Saturday at the T-Mobile Crimson Classic, the Crimson Tide didn’t just win, they overwhelmed.
Alabama rolled past Kent State 8-1 before turning around and run-ruling USF 8-0 in five innings.
Two games.
Sixteen runs.
Just one allowed.
And an 18-0 start that keeps getting louder by the weekend.
The offense is playing with confidence, rhythm and power. Brooke Wells and Alexis Pupillo set the tone, combining to go 8-for-10 on the day. Wells launched two home runs and is now right on Pupillo’s heels for the team lead. Every time she steps in the box, you can feel something big brewing. Pupillo continues to be the steady force Alabama leans on... consistent, disciplined and dangerous.
Abby Duchscherer added three hits across the two games, while Gerritt Griggs and Audrey Vandagriff chipped in with two apiece. Vandagriff’s triple against USF sparked one of several momentum swings that kept the pressure squarely on the Bulls. And when Marlie Giles delivered a grand slam in the fourth inning against USF, that was the exclamation point. The dugout erupted — and the game was essentially over.
In the circle, Alabama was just as sharp.
Kaitlyn Pallozzi picked up the win in relief against Kent State after senior Alea Johnson got the start on her senior day. Jocelyn Briski followed with four shutout innings against USF, allowing just one hit and striking out seven. The pitching staff attacked the zone, trusted the defense and never let either opponent breathe.
Head coach Patrick Murphy summed it up best afterward, praising his senior class and the way the team is competing, but also reminding everyone that this group hasn’t peaked yet.
That’s the scary part.
At 18-0 so far this season, Alabama is playing clean softball, but there’s still another level they believe they can reach.
And if this weekend is any indication, that next level might be something special.
This team isn’t just winning, they're completely dominating every single game they plan in.
They’re building something.
And it’s only getting started.
Roll Tide.
