One of the stars on the Alabama Crimson Tide has been mocked by the Philadelphia Eagles in a 2027 draft prediction.
The Alabama Crimson Tide has always been known for having strong defenses, using them to their advantage over the years.
Alabama has prided itself on having physical players who can dominate across the field. While the Crimson Tide haven't been as strong as a team over the last few years, the defense has still been playing at a high level.
Over the last few seasons, one of the better players for Alabama has been linebacker Yhonzae Pierre. Pierre is again seen as one of the stars for the Alabama unit this year, and he already has an interception in the Crimson Tide's opening-season win.
Last season, Pierre was excellent for the Crimson Tide, posting 52 total tackles, 14.5 sacks, and one pass deflection. His performance has generated some NFL buzz, with Pierre getting some first-round attention.
And in a new mock draft from the Bleacher Report Scouting Department, Pierre does go in the first round. The Alabama star heads to the Philadelphia Eagles in this mock, giving a boost to the birds.
"The Philadelphia Eagles always seem to be reloading along their defensive front. Yhonzae Pierre's addition may seem like overkill, but Arnold Ebiketie and AJ Epenesa aren't signed beyond this season. Furthermore, both contracts for Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt only run through the 2027 campaign. For a team that wants to attack opposing quarterbacks in waves, more depth will be a necessity," Bleacher Report's Scouting Department wrote.
Going to the Eagles could be mutually beneficial, with Philadelphia already having a strong defensive unit. Adding someone like Pierre, who can wreak havoc in the backfield, could push the Eagles to be even stronger on defense.
Since the Eagles don't have a concrete plan along the defensive line past this coming season, adding a player like Pierre does make a lot of sense. When the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2024, the defense played a large role, with the unit having a swarm of players who could make life tough on offenses.
Pierre moves very well at his size of 6-foot-3 frame, giving him long-range arm movements. Philadelphia loves to get players who can get to the quarterback, and Pierre has certainly proven his ability to make this a reality.
His speed is impressive and is one of his redeeming traits on the field, which has impressed NFL scouts. Overall, Pierre is seen as an NFL-ready player who should go in the first round if he performs up to par this season.
