Alabama Crimson Tide star wideout Ryan Coleman-Williams has been given major hype before the 2026 season.
Entering the 2026 college football season, the Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer are looking to work their way back to elite National Championship contender status.
Last season, the Crimson Tide mustered up an 11-4 record. That was good enough to get them into the College Football Playoff.
In the playoff, they were able to hit the road and come through with a big win over the Oklahoma Sooners. Unfortunately, that is where their season came to an end. They were dominated by the Indiana Hoosiers in the next round.
Despite the disappointing finish to the 2025 season, Alabama looks good on paper once again in 2026.
One of the big factors for the team's success this season will be wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams. After a breakout freshman season, the Crimson Tide star took a step back last season.
Coleman-Williams caught 49 passes for 689 yards and four touchdowns last year. He's targeting a much bigger impact in 2026.
Keeping that in mind, ESPN added to the Coleman-Williams hype before the season. They have ranked the Alabama standout as the No. 10 wide receiver in the nation.
"Coleman-Williams was ESPN's No. 2 ranked wide receiver entering the 2025 season after breaking out as a freshman phenom. The sophomore slump he endured was rough, but not rough enough to move him outside the top 10 in the eyes of front office staffers."
One Big Ten staffer had a few things to say about the talented receiver.
"He's got it, he just had a rough year," the staffer said. "Another inconsistent guy, but in terms of physical tools, he's definitely a guy that pops off on tape."
Only time will tell whether or not Coleman-Williams can live up to the hype. There is no denying that he has the talent and potential to be special, but he needs to put it all together on the field.
At least for now, the Crimson Tide have every reason to be excited about him entering the 2026 season. Hopefully, he is able to live up to the preseason hype he has been receiving.
