Despite facing serious felony charges and a sudden release from Detroit, the former first-round pick has reportedly drawn interest from three franchises eager to bolster their secondary.
Former Alabama star Terrion Arnold's NFL career may not be over after all.
Just days after the Detroit Lions made the surprising decision to release the former first-round draft pick, Arnold's attorney revealed in court that multiple NFL franchises have already expressed interest in signing the former Crimson Tide standout.
According to AL.com, Arnold's attorney, Harvey Steinberg, told the court that three NFL teams have contacted Arnold regarding his services and that he expects the former Alabama cornerback to sign with a new team within the next 30 days.
It's a significant development in what has been one of the most shocking stories involving a former Alabama player this offseason.
Arnold is currently facing serious felony charges stemming from allegations of kidnapping and armed robbery connected to an incident in Florida earlier this year. He has pleaded not guilty, and his legal case remains ongoing.
The latest court filing wasn't centered around Arnold's football future, however. Instead, it focused on whether prosecutors should be allowed to change the conditions of his pretrial release.
After Arnold's arrest, the court granted him a $1 million bond and denied prosecutors' request to require him to wear a GPS ankle monitor. At the time, Steinberg successfully argued that such a device could interfere with Arnold's ability to practice and play football for the Lions.
Once Detroit released Arnold, prosecutors renewed their request, arguing that the original reasoning no longer applied. Steinberg responded by informing the court that Arnold's release doesn't mean his NFL career is over.
In his filing, Steinberg stated that three NFL organizations have already reached out about potentially signing Arnold and expressed confidence that his client will be back on an NFL roster within the next month.
Whether that ultimately happens remains to be seen.
Arnold must first clear waivers before officially becoming an unrestricted free agent. Even then, any interested team will have to weigh the undeniable talent he brings to the field against the uncertainty surrounding his pending legal case.
There's no question Arnold possesses the ability to help an NFL secondary. During his time at Alabama, he developed into one of the nation's premier cornerbacks, earning All-American honors while becoming a leader of the Crimson Tide defense. His physical tools and competitive mindset helped make him a first-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
But talent alone isn't what teams are evaluating right now.
Any organization considering Arnold will also have to assess the legal risks, potential league discipline, and the possibility that his availability could change depending on how the case unfolds.
For now, though, Steinberg's comments suggest Arnold's football career isn't finished despite his release from Detroit.
The legal process will continue to play out in the courtroom, but if his attorney's statements prove accurate, it may not be long before the former Alabama star is wearing a different NFL uniform.
Until then, Arnold's future remains one of the most closely watched storylines involving a former Crimson Tide player this offseason.
