Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide don't have the best recruiting class for 2027.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have had a solid 2026 season, but have lost two games, with a 6-2 record. Alabama is still in the mix for a spot in the College Football Playoff if they finish the season strong.
However, the Crimson Tide will want to sustain their success and be competitive again in 2027. That starts with their recruiting class, which is underwhelming thus far, as ESPN ranked it the 32nd-best 2027 recruiting class in the country.
Although Alabama has some solid talent coming in, a program of their caliber should be closer to the top 10-15. The Crimson Tide are clearly looking to address their quarterback position with Elijah Haven and Trent Seaborn committing.
Haven is a five-star prospect who has played well throughout his high school career. In 2023, he completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,205 yards, 35 touchdowns, and three interceptions, while rushing for 633 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He had another great season in 2024, completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 3,093 yards, 37 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while rushing for 948 yards and 21 touchdowns.
In 2025, Haven put up video-game numbers, completing 72.3 percent of his passes for 3,931 yards and 62 touchdowns. He also rushed for 794 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has the chance to be an elite passer for Alabama.

In 2024, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 2,675 yards, 26 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while rushing for 256 yards and a touchdown. His best season came in 2025, completing 71.5 percent of his passes for 3,692 yards, 35 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and rushing for 108 yards and five touchdowns.
If one of Haven or Seaborn can perform at a high level, it will help the Crimson Tide contend in the coming seasons.
Alabama's defensive commits are headlined by defensive end Tyler Younger. Younger had 16 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 2025 and could develop into a key piece for the Crimson Tide's defensive line.
DeBoer and Alabama will want to add more talent to their 2027 class to help them contend for a National Championship in the near future, and a strong end to the season could help them entice the top players in the country.
