On Wednesday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed that second year wide receiver Aeryn “Bubba” Hampton is no longer part of the Crimson Tide football program.

Kalen DeBoer did not share the details as to why Hampton is no longer a part of the Crimson Tide program, but during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday, DeBoer did share that "Bubba has not been with us for quite awhile, going to early fall camp."

It's also very important to note that Aeryn Hampton’s name has also been removed from the Crimson Tide football team's official roster online. Hampton was notably absent from the Week 1 trip to face the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee before also being omitted from the Week 2 roster against the ULM Warhawks in Tuscaloosa this past Saturday.

Hampton finished the 2024 season seeing action in three games, and recorded just six yards total against Mercer.

The four-star wide receiver from Daingerfield High School in Texas, was ranked the No. 9 athlete and the No. 227 overall player by 247 sports during his recruitment. Hampton was committed to Texas Longhorns under Steve Sarkisian early on until Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide were able to flip him in December of 2023.

As a junior in high school, Hampton caught 55 passes for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense. He also racked up 57 tackles, including five TFL, and also had two forced fumbles and three interceptions.

Although we don't know the details surrounding Hampton's departure, Alabama fans can rest in the fact that the Alabama wide receiver room is still loaded with talent. So much so, that many college football fans think the Crimson Tide might just have the most impressive WR depth in the country.

Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Isaiah Horton, Lotzier Brooks, Rico Scott, Derek Meadows, Jaylen Mbakwe, and Cole Adams are locked and loaded, and they are all eager to help the Alabama Crimson Tide make it back to the College Football playoff again this season.

Alabama is set to face off against Wisconsin in Tuscaloosa on Saturday at 11am CT.
