Loyalty, grit, and unwavering belief defined Ty Simpson's Alabama journey, proving some players truly embody the jersey.

There are some players who wear the uniform. And then there are players who become it.

Ty Simpson was never just Alabama’s quarterback, he was Alabama football in human form.

Loyalty.

Patience.

Grit.

Belief.

In an era defined by shortcuts, transfer portals, and chasing the biggest check, Simpson chose something different. He chose Tuscaloosa.

Every single time.

Multiple reports surfaced this week stating Simpson is expected to officially declare for the NFL Draft, despite reportedly receiving million-dollar NIL offers from other programs. That alone tells you everything you need to know about who he is. When the money was loud and the pressure was heavy, Ty Simpson never wavered.

Simpson made it clear when he told Chris Low this:

“I was honest and told them what I'd been offered, but that I just couldn't do it because of everything I stood for and what Alabama had meant to me and the legacy that I built there.”

He truly was never going to play anywhere else.

Alabama was home.

It was always about more than money.

Simpson shared something so powerful that proved his unwavering loyalty:

“Everybody would just remember me as the guy who took all this money and went to Miami or Tennessee for his last year,” Simpson told Low. “But I was a captain. I put my hand and footprints in the cement at Denny Chimes. I would have lost everything that I built at Alabama.”

And then came the moment that made it all too real.

A photo.

His locker.

A simple caption on his Instagram story: “Been a great ride.”

No theatrics. No drama. Just gratitude.

That’s Ty Simpson.

His journey wasn’t the easy path.

It wasn’t handed to him.

He waited.

He learned.

He competed.

He endured criticism, doubt, and expectations that would have crushed a lesser player. When his moment came, he didn’t flinch. He stepped into the fire and led.

On the field, Ty Simpson’s journey wasn’t perfect, and that’s exactly what made it real. He finished with 3,567 passing yards and 28 total touchdowns and 5 interceptions, but the story of his season can’t be told by statistics alone. There were ups and downs. Moments of brilliance. Moments of frustration. Times when the weight of expectations felt heavy. But through it all, Simpson never quit. He never backed down. He kept showing up, kept competing, and kept believing, even when the noise got loud and the criticism got harsh.

And that’s what matters most.

Not that he was flawless, but that he was fearless.

He played with toughness, led with accountability, and owned both the highs and the lows. When things didn’t go right, he didn’t point fingers, he took responsibility. When the moment demanded courage, he stepped forward. Ty Simpson didn’t just play quarterback for Alabama, he carried it.

Off the field, his impact may have been even greater.

Teammates followed him.

Coaches trusted him.

Fans believed in him.

He represented Alabama the right way: with humility, work ethic, and respect for the program that raised him.

Ty Simpson loved Alabama football.

Not for what it gave him, but for what it demanded of him.

He embraced the standard.

He lived it.

And when it was time to leave, he did so with class.

Now, the next chapter begins. The NFL Draft awaits, and time will tell where his name is called. Wherever he lands, one thing is certain: some locker room is about to gain a leader.

Some franchise is about to get a quarterback who knows how to fight, how to wait his turn, and how to honor the jersey he wears.

Ty Simpson’s story at Alabama is finished, but his legacy is not.

Forever Crimson.

Roll Tide, Ty!
