Arizona has been a team with a target on their back, consistently being at the number one spot every week. Still handling the pressure and staying sharp and playing as if every game could ruin their season. The Wildcats have not taken any team for granite and approach every game as if it is their last.
This game was no different being at home in front of their peers and fans ready to continue this success.
It was a Saturday afternoon at the McKale Memorial Center in Tucson. The Mountaineers had come to town in hopes of being the team that gives the Wildcats their first lose of the season.
Unfortunately for West Virginia, coach Tommy Lloyd had his team prepared as always.
The Wildcats came out hot and showed no signs of slowing down, the cohesion on both sides of the ball was like watching poetry in motion.
Arizona went up 20-points early in the first half and showed no signs of letting off the gas.
The Wildcats were able to maintain the 20-point lead at the end of the first half and go into the break with confidence to finish strong.
There was no way West Virginia could keep up with the hot hands of the Wildcats that were shooting 54-percent from the field and an amazing 43-percent from three-point range.
This Wildcat team recorded 20 assists to West Virginia's 11 total assists.
The Mountaineers only shot 34-percent overall from the field. Having a bad shooting day, against a team that is the best well-balanced offense just does not go well.
Arizona had multiple players in double figures, showing how well they spread the court.
The outcome of this dominant performance was a 33-point victory over West Virginia, at home for the Wildcats.
Arizona got their 20th win of the season with an 88-53 win over the Mountaineers. Staying undefeated and now lookiing forward as they will face number 13 BYU next on the road.
