It was a rare brisk day in Texas, as if the Wildcats brought some Tucson weather with them. That chill did not stay outside; the chill spread onto the court, the Arizona defense was ice cold.
Continuing Big 12 conference play at TCU and Arizona started the game as they normally do.
The Wildcats controlled the tempo from the tip-off and set the tone. Jumped out quickly, being led by freshman Koa Peat.
Arizona never fell behind in this game, having the lead from beginning to end. No matter the second half of runs made by TCU, but it was never enough to take the lead away from the Wildcats.
Peat had one of his impressive performances of the season, 20 points and seven rebounds for Arizona. Koa Peat made most his points off of second chance opportunities he created off the glass.
In transition Peat could be found flying down the court and creating plays.
As always Arizona offense is a well-oiled machine, balanced and full of unselfish play.
Both guards Jaden Bradley and Anthony Dell'Orso had 17 points. Clutch shots by both players in difficult times down the stretch.
Texas Christian University made some motivating runs, and we do not want to take away the effort this team left on the court.
When a team fails to keep up in the beginning of the game, falling behind and allowing a 19-8 run is no easy task for any team to come back from.
At one point the Horned Frogs were down 21 points to the Wildcats. It was impressive they were able to close within seven points mid-way through the second half.
Arizona went into the halftime with a 43-27 lead over TCU.
The Wildcat's defense was the story in both halves. With the amount of contested shots and turnovers created it appeared as if the TCU offense looked as if their feet were frozen to the ground.
It has been very impressive to watch coach Tommy Lloyd craft a roster with such discipline and scoring capabilities up and down the roster.
Every lineup Lloyd put on the floor were creating and executing on both sides of the ball.
In the end the overpowering overall team of the Arizona Wildcats was way too much for TCU at home. The Wildcats walked out of there with a 86-73 win and still undefeated.
Arizona is now 16-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
