Hunter Henry has arrived at the Super Bowl. Let's see if he and the Patriots can upset the Seattle Seahawks.
Arkansas football star Hunter Henry is preparing for the game of his life. Henry and the New England Patriots have made their way to Super Bowl LX on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Here's more from Arkansas Athletics:
"Henry hauled in two passes for a total of 12 yards during the New England Patriots’ 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos, helping lead New England to its 12th Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. It will also mark the first trip to the Super Bowl in Henry’s career, as he had previously made the playoffs twice during his nine years in the league. Henry has registered a reception in all 20 games this season and caught a pass in 35 of his last 36 games played.
"Hunter Henry and rookie Eric Gregory will represent Arkansas on football’s biggest stage when the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in Super Bowl LX. The matchup marks the ninth time that Arkansas has had multiple former players in the same Super Bowl."
Hunter Henry figures to have a central role in helping the Patriots pull the upset against the Seahawks. Here's why: The Patriots are unlikely to score big against a quality Seattle defense. The path to victory for New England on Super Sunday is not to win a shootout, but to control the ball and field position, making it harder for Seattle to score against the New England defense.
The Patriots' defense is the main reason they are in the Super Bowl. The Pats dominated the Los Angeles Chargers, forced a ton of turnovers against CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans, and then held the Denver Broncos to just seven points in the AFC Championship Game, making 10 points stand up for a victory.
Hunter Henry is the guy who will need to move the chains on 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 6, making those timely possession-sustaining plays which keep the ball away from Seattle and enable the Patriots to shorten the game.
The Patriots should be underdogs in this game. They were fortunate that Bo Nix of the Broncos got injured earlier in the playoffs. They played two games in snowstorms and were able to win in spite of Drake Maye's mistakes. Now they face a Seattle team which just beat the Los Angeles Rams in a high-level game many NFL experts think was the matchup of the two best teams in football. New England, like any underdog, needs to shorten the game and get it deep into the fourth quarter with a chance to win. Hunter Henry is a central part of that plan. Let's see if the Patriots can go Hog wild on Super Bowl Sunday with their tight end leading the charge.
